About
My first film camera was a Polaroid 600 Barbie Instant camera. My dad took so many photos of us growing up and I was always stealing his camera to do photoshoots with my friends. My phone has thousands of pictures on it. So I guess you could say I've always been interested in "capturing the moment."
When film cameras made a comeback a few years ago and my friends got cameras, I decided to give it a try myself. Like many people these days, I get a boost from instant gratification, but film asks you to slow down, wait for the right moment, and be patient. I was instantly hooked and have been shooting film ever since.
There's something gratifying about getting the perfect shot when you only took one chance, and something even more disappointing when it doesn't work out. It's all a part of the game. I'm still learning about film, and I hope to continue to improve my work!
I currently shoot with an Olympus mju II Zoom 115 and a Pentax Spotmatic F. Many pictures of me from the past few years feature one of these cameras hanging around my neck or gripped in my grubby little paws.
